Ravi Pandey, an IT professional, is a bachelor living in Bangalore. Having grown up with dogs, he always yearned for the company of dogs. Ravi had recently lost his beloved dog in Bangalore. The void left by his loyal friend prompted him to adopt a new furry companion.
While browsing our website to search for dogs available for adoption in Bangalore, Ravi found Buddy, a one-year-old, high-energy Labrador who was abandoned by his owners. His profile instantly caught his eye. Ravi felt a connection with Buddy and believed he was the ideal companion. Once he filled our form to express interest for Buddy, we connected him to Buddy’s rescuer.
However, Buddy’s rescuer, Mili Gandhi, had reservations. Rescue organizations and animal shelters are usually skeptical of bachelors. Their concerns are not unfounded, as dogs thrive in stable environments, and changes in their owner’s life can sometimes lead to rehoming situations. Mili was concerned about the potential changes that could come with Ravi’s lifestyle, such as relocating to different cities or getting married.
Nevertheless, Mili was determined not to succumb to stereotypes and decided to have a conversation with Ravi over the phone. Almost immediately, it was apparent that he was well-versed in dog care and understood the commitment that it takes. Mili set-up a meeting for Ravi to meet Buddy, and the rest is history! They both loved each other and Ravi confirmed his decision to adopt. Mili too felt confident of their compatibility. We drew up the paperwork and Buddy was officially adopted!
Ravi’s story serves as a valuable lesson for bachelors considering adopting a dog. It emphasizes the importance of thoughtful consideration and preparation before taking on the responsibility of pet ownership. Ravi showed that bachelors can indeed provide stable and loving homes for pets.
